Catch Up...

Okay, it's been way too long! Since Easter we have had lots of soccer and more soccer. Shelby is playing on a D2 team. This is a step up from recreational soccer but a step under select. They travel a little bit. We went to Hattiesburg one Saturday for 3 practice games and we went to two tournaments in Gulfport. Her team did pretty well. The first tournament in Gulfport we went to the finals and lost in a shoot out. They were heart broken. Brice's team has been to several tournaments. One at home, Destin and Memphis. He plays in his State Cup next weekend. We have had several injuries and at one time were down 3 players. Brice was forced to play center defense. That is the total opposite of what he normally plays. We have gotten 4 new players that will be playing with us next weekend. Hopefully we will do pretty well. Brice had Jr. Varsity soccer try outs for the High school yesterday. They have one more try out next week. I can't believe he is going to high school. I'm getting old. Eli will be going to 2nd grade and he is already reading on a 2nd grade level. He has had a great year. We also had class day for Brice and Shelby and my niece graduated from high school. I'm posting lots of pictures of some of the events that have happened since my last post. We have a busy summer planned. We are going to Atlanta and Florida and the big kids and Philip are going to youth camp in July. I'll try to do better with my posting.

My neice, Hanna, graduated from high school. She was salutatorian. We were very proud of her. She will be attending Mississippi College in the fall. Way to go Hannah!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We have had a great day with the exception of the boys not feeling great. They both have bad colds or allergies. Eli is coughing his head off and Brice is sneezing and says he feels like he is wheezing. The joys of spring time and pollen! We went to my mom and dad's last night for dinner with the family and Easter egg hunt. Shelby and Eli were the only ones hunting eggs this year. I think my mom hid over 100 eggs. I believe we found them all too. She hid some special soccer ball eggs that had a special prize inside... a $20 bill. We had lots of fun being together. Today we went to church and had a huge Sunday. Over 200 people. I wish all of our usual people were there, we would have had to go outside for church. After church we came home and ate and then went out to the church property. We just walked along the path and the kids played for a little while. Then we went to the park and the kids played soccer and on the playground. It is a beautiful day and we are not looking forward to school and work tomorrow. Monday is coming...

Eli is finding one of his many eggs.

Shelby is trying to leave the easy ones for Eli.

We are counting the eggs to see how many are left to find.

Hattiesburg Classic Champions

Brice's team played in the Hattiesburg Classic tournament this past weekend. We actually won it. Brice scored all but one of the goals for his team. It was very exciting! The final game was a little intense. We were up 1-0 at half time and then Hattiesburg scored on us soon after the second half started. We were tied up at the end of the game. We had two 10 minutes over times in which nobody scored so we had to go into a shoot out. I hate those! Anyway, we won it! Our goalie saved two and their goalie only saved one of the five that shot. The boys were so excited about winning. They really needed that after the year we have had. Brice is on the front row, second from left. We are missing two of our boys in this picture. One is injured and hasn't played since November and the other one had to go home for something he had at church.

This is Brice receiving his medal from Coach Britton!
Way to go, Brice and MS Fire U-14. We are proud of you!

Happy 12th B'day, Shelby

Today is Shelby's Birthday! She is 12! I took her shopping this afternoon. She got some really cute clothes and some shoes. We had a good time together. I can't believe that she is already passed me in her shoes size. Today I was asking her where some of her old shoes were because I wanted them. It's pretty sad when you are asking your daughter for her hand me downs!
Shelby asked for shrimp curry and green beans with bacon for her birthday dinner. I might not have put those two together but that's what she wanted. It was pretty good if I don't say so myself.
She also asked for ice cream sundae's for her dessert. YUM!!!

The one thing she asked for was a digital camera. She was real excited about getting one. She can't wait to try it out. She will have to post some pictures of her own.
Well, Happy Birthday big girl! We love you and are very proud of you. You have made our life extra special and we are glad that you are our girl! Have a great day!Posted by Picasa

Vulcan Cup

We went to B'ham for the Vulcan Cup this past weekend. We played 3 games. We tied the first game and lost the other two. We played really good though. We are improving some and I can see that we may win some soon. We only lost both games 2-1. Brice scored one in the first game. He was so excited. He hurt his hand in the last game yesterday. I don't think it is broken but I'm taking him to the doctor this morning to get it checked out. It was a long weekend and I'm glad to be home. Philip had a crazy weekend at home. Shelby had two games Saturday. (she won both) He had regular set up for church on Sunday with normal Sunday activities and then he had to come home, clean house, shop for food for LifeGroup, take Shelby to soccer practice, make hamburgers for LifeGroup and then lead LifeGroup. To say the least, we were all exhausted when bedtime came. I think Philip said that he and the kids left the house Sunday at 6:45. We need a nanny sometimes!!! Happy Monday everyone...

After Brice hurt his hand the coach checked it out. He came out for a few minutes but then went back in to play. He wanted to try to score again.

Shelby's Soccer

Shelby has played 3 of her 6 games. The others have been postponed due to rain or field conditions. We will have to make some of them up. Brice has had the same situation. In fact, last weekend we had a local tournament and the whole thing was cancelled because of rain. I've only been able to take pictures of Shelby's games and a little video. These were from a game last Monday night. It was so cold and muddy. We lost but Shelby only had one goal scored against her and it was scored by our own team. Next weekend I will be in B'ham with Brice for a tournament so hopefully I will be able to get some pictures of him. I sure hope this rain ends soon. It seems it is raining every third day. Our yard can't take too much more.

We are still here...

Since I last blogged we have had the flu at our house. Brice came down with the flu but no one else has had it yet. We all got the shot back in October but evidently it's not working as well as it has in the past. He wasn't sick very long though. I took him to the doctor on Sunday and he was back in school on Wednesday. Both Brice and Shelby have started back to soccer in full swing. All the rain we have had has caused problems with practices and games. Shelby has 3 games to make up due to rain and Brice's tournament that we had this weekend had to be cancelled because there was 2 inches of water standing on the fields. I didn't get any pictures of video because of the rain this weekend. I'll have to try again next time. Shelby has a game on Monday night and Brice and I will travel to B'ham week after next. We have had several projects at school to get done and lots of tests to study for. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. We have no school and I'm not working so hopefully we will sleep a little late and enjoy the day.

Well, just wanted to let you know we were still around and still kicking...
